We’ll communicate soon with another content-rich video, the Enlightened Leadership Team
I enjoyed the content of the videos. To answer your question of fufilling your passion. I think if you put your videos on U tube you would feel a great deal of fufillment, just not a very fat wallet
Thank you for sharing your passion and your expertise. Invalauble.
There seemed to be a little audio/video problems with this one. I lost interest. Sorry.
You definitely are on the leading edge of this opportunity, Ed — training methods continue to change as needs and learners change. Technology is the change agent in many cases. Using your talented staff to capitalize on their tech skills will make it possible for all of us to grow our skills as well. It seems to that you are creating a bridge between the critical people skills and the high-tech format with your mini-modules. The up close, personal approach works and helps to build a relationship with your learner — modeling one of the most important leadership skills of all. I have not been a big fan of technology because I have felt it got in the way of the human element. Even blended learning leaves you feeling dissatisfied. I think some of your new ideas could be just what we are looking for — onward and upward, Ed!
Ed:
Great message. YEs, there absolutely is a need for what you are describing. I think the world functions best when there are a variety of options ofr people, depending on their needs and wants. I think this concept would do a great job of supporting face to face training, for example. What reinforces the messages that we are teaching laders, once the formal training is over? I think this idea has all kinds of other possibilities.
Thanks for being who you are!
Jerry
I think this one is too long. Should be shorter.
I just felt like I was being set up for something.
The content videos were all helpful.
Dear Ed
I have so enjoyed all of the videos as it brought back memories of when Enlightened Leadership came to our company many years ago and helped us when we were going through growing pains. Your company has been the only training company who has kept in touch with us all through the years with at least a phone call
I really like the idea of these mini videos and having access to them on the computer. It would be a great help to so many managers in our company old and new who are constantly facing new challenges each day.
I hope that this service can be something that we can afford to subscribe to.
Thanks again for you great videos I will pass the rest of the videos on to our President

Great passion to have - bringing out the best in yourself and others. To answer your question - Yes there is lot’s of opportunity for all the things you mentioned for my continuous learning. I’m primarily a by doing learner - audio and visual help but I got to go out and do it over and over. So especially on the fly IPOD reminders audio/videos and the key point readable reminders would work great for me. Being able to go and get sound advice and encouragement in the moment by various means is great. How much it would cost to do these things and then how much we’ll each be willing to pay is tough what’s the ROI needs to be measured.
Dear Ed, the idea of a specialised customer designed website on leadership items was on my mind since some weeks and you bringing up this question was like an answer to my question: what if I encounter an urgent problem which needs solving right away while I don’t know what to do?
Because your video’s are spread world-wide, time might be a problem in finding an answer in the Enlighted Leadership community, sharing each others experiences. But a well organised up-to-date website coukld solve that problem, at least for the main part and maybe all together!
I hope you will continue on that road!

Dear Ed,
I have only just tapped into “Leadership made simple”. Even so, I think this is extremely relevant today when the world needs to begin focusing more on people. I have my own business with just myself, while I am also heading a local project voluntarily. In the project in particular, I could really use extra skills for dealing with some difficult types.
I hope that when/if you eventually begin charging a price for enlightened learning, that it will be affordable for small independent companies too and not not just the large companies.
Best regards,
Jennifer
ps! I wanted to order your free book when I subscribed to “Leadership made simple”, but the payment method was not secure.
Dear Mr Ed Oakley,
Thank you for sharing your passion. I would like to hear more of your 20 year journey learning, teaching and sharing on leadership and change. This is because I have just started my own ‘learning leadership’ journey too. If possible, please include photos too.
As you and I know (to borrow your words in the video) technology is evolving at a rapid pace so it is vital for you to seek feedback from the younger generation, who are definitely faster in embracing rapid technological change. Therefore you might need to talk in a way that make youngster listen and willing to give feedback.
I agree with some of the comments made here for the video to be shorter and for you to upload in You Tube instead.
Thanks again for sharing.

These videos have been wonderful. There really is a great opportunity here. I really like the iPod idea. That would be very useful in our organization as so many people seemed stretched to their limit. I can think of a lot of other great uses for the iPod in training too. These videos have been very insightful so far and I look forward to each new video.
it has been said about turkeys and eagles that it is difficult. ed is trying to adress this but like the eagle his point of view will never be that of the turkey.it is hard for the turkey to understand ed with his artificial wisdom and methods when the results of his theories do not benefit them monetarily. in other words schemes resulting in more work and less pay or the same pay will only have lip service and yes man adherence . when will the corporate world ever reward the worker who has to carry out managements schemes and theories without REWARD?
These videos are an excellent format for communicating. They have been very helpful as reminders to put into action EL principles and bringing out the best in people. Thank you ED! I look forward to each new video.
Ed, I think than you not only shared your passion, but you awaked our passion with your words. I think than make our job with passion is the best way to give our best.
Ed: I think the concept is a good one. The trick will be having the right content and the right price point.
There are a number of directions to go in, from on-demand training, to blogs, to social networking, and videos, etc…Or, all of the above. I would imagine you’d have to determine your revenue stream, too: subscription, product sales, ads, or some combination of these. As Paul and Jennifer stated above, the cost will be a key component in determining the reach to an audience. Thanks for including us in this conversation.

Ed, Your question, Is there an opportunity for web based Leadership information and help?
Absolutely! I drawn to watch each video because it’s short, direct to the point and simplified.
I hope this helps you.

I agree totally that we are living in a different time and need to offer different types of training options to our employees. The short segment videos are great. Thanks for being innovative and for offering them.
Hi Ed,
Thank-you for the question. I think you may be onto something here. Like Wendell Noble, I think to meet one half of your goal will be easy, the selling of these clips may be more difficult. I think about the leaders in my organization and myself - taking time to search for a topic would be problematic. It would need to be simeple or I would not do the serarch. When I do a topic search and get a bunch of sites to do a further search on, I simply look at the first 3 to 6 sites; so, where you would be placed on a search is critical. I wonder if you could market the video/audio segments to an organization contact, who could then send out just in time personal emails throughout that organization for leaders. That interal contact could also recieve requests for topics that are not time sensitive; i.e. conflict. Also, for leaders to pay for this venue, getting handouts would be a must - at least for me they would be. Keep up the good work!
Ed - Nice job with outlining your purpose in these and future videos. Good job of getting on the forefront of training develoment by the use of today’s technology vs. the classroom. (Besides development of leadership skills, you may be helping keep leaders up to date who are technologically challenged like myself.) By having a library of short, tactical references to go to, people in management roles who want to exercise leadership will be more effective if they select one of your segments that is related to the next big task at hand. Some of your videos are titled very specifically, while others are more general (The Power of Focus). I wonder if you could have a descriptor of tasks that your titled short video could help optimize for the more general titles?
Hi:
I am a fledgling entrepreneur and am finding the “people” end of my business difficult by times. The first videos have been very helpful and I am looking forward to the next in the series. I really like that this has been broken into bite size pieces that I can review at any time.
I have been utilizing some of the techniques in dealing with my own self talk. I felt if this worked with others why not talk to my self this way. It makes a difference and as my attitude and dialogue towards self changes so does the way and manner in which I deal and speak with others.
I feel that what you propose would be of great interest to me and others. Having a place where I could search for specifics and ask direct questions would be of great value to me.
Sincerely Yours
Mariea Adams
In answer to your question, YES. You are developing a new tool to use. The short learning clip concept works well for staff meetings and allows a manager/leader to focus on continious improvement of staff. This also provides a tool to allow the manager to lead the discussion. You are onto something important. Our challenge is to develop motivated high quality employees and pouring information into there ears and hoping it will help is not enough. Using contemporary technology with immediate gratification-results is a need we have with today’s younger workforce. Keep up the efforts. Keith
Hi, Ed ……… Yes, i think there is a a lot of opportunity to do some things that can be mutually beneficial to you and other leaders. I have lots of ideas and a couple of colleagues may have as well. One simple one is to really create an opportunity where leaders and thought leaders could come together to really talk about what are the needs of the new generation of leaders. Blogs and emails are good but there may still be interest in some good old-fashioned face-to-face brainstorming and idea sharing. I have a colleague group where that still happens and there is no substitute for that. there are a lot of us with a lot of experience and maybe some wisdom and maybe just not sure of what to do with it all or share it effectively. Just a rambling thought. I really like everything I have seen so far. Regards ……… David
Excellent information. Sure give you a lot to think about. Enjoy the short segments also. Makes it easy to schedule in 15 minutes.
In my very busy life, I am very push focused right now. I will not go to a website regularly, but if an email peaks my interest, I will go there and take advantage. You and your videos have done this. I will be back as a result of your email messages.
